Robert asks…

How much do you pay for off-street parking at your apartment?

I’m looking into renting an apartment in Minneapolis. They want $40 for off-street parking. I think that’s a little high but I really don’t want to deal with the snow emergencies, plows, break-ins (not in the best park of town) etc…

Administrator answers:

I pay nothing, it is usually included. Don’t expect protection from break-ins, most occur in parking lots off of the street away from the watchful eye of the law and public.

Joseph asks…

Getting an apartment in Minneapolis, MN?

Me and my friend are planning on getting an apartment in South Minneapolis. She’s going to St Paul Community and Technical college, I’m going to Normandale Community College. I have 3,000 in extra loans to help pay for rent, she has 2,000. We both don’t have a job right now, but I will be getting one within the next week or two and she will too once we move in. We are looking to move in mid January. We’re both 19 and 18, with no rental experience and little or no credit since we’re so young. We want just a simple, cheap two bedroom. Is it possible to get an apartment under these conditions?

Administrator answers:

That’s pretty funny

John asks…

How much is your gas bill?

I’m getting ready to move to a new place. I live in MN, so I know the bills will fluctuate. But can anyone tell me how much a gas bill is (winter and summer) for a one bedroom apartment in Minneapolis /St. Paul area? I’m trying to decide if I should take the place that has gas heat (I pay gas) but the rent is cheaper, or if I should go with a heat paid apartment.

Administrator answers:

Call the gas company and tell them that you would like to know what the budget amount will be if you sign up for it at the new address…

I have a big old (way over a hundred years old) house… My budget amount is over $300 a month all year long. I live in La Crosse, WI.
