What is the best residential telephone service?
I’m talking bundles, phone, internet, and cable. Which service offers something not too pricey, very reasonable for a 1 bedroom apartment?
I had the AT&T home line but then i also wanted the tv and the internet, no matter what you do they are all expensive for a one bedroom apt. Or a five bedroom house. I finally use the cellular for my calls and the stand alone for Internet I quite using the tv altogether and just get my tv off the net. Now i pay 50oo for each, and its wonderful.
Other than that, go with AT&T, they have three really cheap packages here in IL. Called consumers choice, only about 30 per month depending on what you need.
I suggest you do NOT get your phone advice from we nillies off the web, but talk to all the companies available in your area and do your own pricing; its what YOU have to live with, not us. We drink too much, fight with baseball ump’s over the tv screen and are pretty much unreliable when things wrong if you listen to our bad advice.
What would an entry level editor make per month at a bigger Canadian newspaper, such as the Montreal Gazette?
What would that be in US Dollars?
Entry level anything in a major Candadian newspaper would be around $20,000 US Dollars per year, and that’s if the writer’s lucky. I have a friend who was a freelance writer, proof reader, and mini column writer for the Montreal Gazette and she took home about $15,000/year.
You can best believe apartments aren’t cheap in any big Canadian city so, to get by on that little, you’d have to have a roommate or 2,or 3! Or a second job. Or be receiving trust money from wealthy parents!
Is Vancouver or Toronto a better place to live for a young family?
My husband and I are in our early 20s and expecting our first child. We haven’t quite finished university, but we really want to. We also need to be able to work and have affordable housing and such too. Which of those two cities do you think would be better for us to live in?
I live in vancouver but i would say toronto … A small family starting out will be living in a basement suite in vancouver … In toronto, while not cheap, it would be easier to have to find affordable housing … Vancouver is a beautiful place to visit, but a sucky place to live … Vancouver has natural beauty with the ocean and mountains but the cities are trashy … Toronto is a beautiful city with old and interesting architecture, the lake is nearby, close to cottage country … If you move to vancouver you would be living in the suburbs, not the city, unless you are very wealthy … A 500 square foot apartment in my building goes for 250 thousand dollars … Yes, you read right, a quarter of a million dollars for a room … And that is right downtown, two blocks to the beach, but that gives you an idea of the cost … I moved here to attend university and have been here over twenty years and it still does not feel like home … Every single person i knew who moved here for work or school are all living in different provinces now … And the rain … If you grew up with sun, the raininess will affect you … You may have to deal with snow in toronto but snow is white and pretty, just cold … Rain is depressing when it goes on for months … And the traffic in vancouver … Don’t plan any commuting … I went from downtown to west van which normally would be a 15 minute drive if that … It would be 15 minutes in the middle of the night … Over two hours it took me to get to west van from downtown in the middle of the day, middle of the week … And if you are planning on using transit, again, go with toronto … They have a great system … Vancouver is horrible … The skytrain during peak hours is standing room only as are most buses … And if you want to attend university, the two universities in vancouver are so inconveniently located … When i attended ubc i went from downtown to ubc and it was over an hour on a standing room only bus every day … And sfu … Don’t even get me started … One of the universities in canada with an increased suicide rate due to is seclusion on top of a “mountain” … It is a super hassle to get to and from simon fraser university … I am going to have to give you a big fat TORONTO on this question :O) i would live there myself but i started businesses here and stuck …
