Do you think I’m expecting too much out of myself by planning to clean my small efficiency apartment…?

Within 2 days-hopefully in time for Christmas squeaky cleaning?

Administrator answers:

Lisa asks…

Which electricity plan is best for me , while living in an efficiency apartment, and trying to save some money?

Which plan is best for me , while living in an efficiency apt. and trying to save money.
Hi guys,
I just “moved” from New York-Texas and guess what , I just moved to an efficiency apartment. Although I have lived in an apartment before, that was with my parents , and they never included in telling me anything about paying bills or how to manage it . If anything they yelled at me with no end in sight . Hence , the long move from new york . And now I am clueless when it comes down to chosing the right electricity plan. So if you are someone who is already paying their electricity bills and is careful about saving money , I would be really glad if you answered this question.
enyway, currently I pay 399/month for an efficiency apartment in houston , texas and I already called up TXU and they told me I don’t have to pay a deposit , because I have a good credit and everything. But the plans really confused me so I was not able to make a commitment to TXU at that moment . But now I have probably one more day, before my apartment office people turn off the electricity and

I won’t have any electricity if I don’t act promptly and select a plan that’s best for me .

I guess my question is , which electricity plan is best for me from the following. I won’t be using that much energy. I am going to be really cautious about leaving even a single light on and to leave the A/C off when it’s not that hot.
here are my following options , By the way my lease, currently, is for 6 months

TXU Energy PriceGuarantee 24
TXU Energy Resident’s Choice
TXU Energy Texas Choice
TXU Energy MarketEdge
TXU Energy Texas Choice 24

here’s the link if you want more information .

the next 6 mos – 1 Year.Thank you so much.

Looks like residential choice for you. —the ones that require 10% from alternatives would sell you elec. From costlier sources. RC SAYS IT IS FOR THOSE THAT want to save $ by restricting their usage to give you more control.

Charles asks…

What is a list of monthly bills for a college student living in an apartment on her own?

I’m a college student who just turned 24, and I live with my fiance. I’m thinking of getting a job, leaving and moving out on my own, which i’ve never done. I moved out of my mom’s straight in with my fiance at 19. What bills should I look forward to paying once I’m out on my own? I plan to get an efficiency/studio apartment with my 6 cats.

Administrator answers:

Once you’ve paid security deposits, figure out your rent, electricity, perhaps water, phone, food, health insurance, car maintenance, gas, car insurance, repairs – and cat food.

Helen asks…

what is the differance between a studio apartment and a 1 bedroom apartment?

what is the differance between a studio/efficiency apartment and a 1 bedroom apartment? like what is the average sizes? what is the floor plan like for both of them? is a studio/efficiency meant for only one person? or can there be two living in it? anyone have pictures to show me?

Administrator answers:

The only difference between a studio and a 1 bedroom apartment is that studio apartments generally have a very open floor plan. This usually means that you have no seperated bedroom to speak of. Your living/dining/bedroom will all basically be in the same place. With a 1 bedroom you will have seclusion and walls for more privacy; studios lack this but allow a free working floor plan.

From personal experience with living in both, I would suggest (if you are not on the shy side and you are pretty neat and tidy) I would opt for the studio, due to the fact that you have a choice in where to place your furniture and can easily redecorate when you want. However, if you are messy and do not like for guests to see where you sleep I would go for the traditional 1 bedroom.

Also, if you have a great deal of furniture, or if your furniture is on the large size, (like mine was), the studio provides you with enough space so that you do no feel crowded.

If you have a room mate who is not your significant other, I would not suggest the studio. Unless you are really close friends, I do not believe you would enjoy sharing the same bed.

In my sources, I’ve put a website where you can see some different floorplans for apartments.
