Your Questions About In Plain View
What word means hidden in plain view/sight?
I don’t need an explanation of what it means, but isn’t there a single word that defines that phrase?
It means that something is visible to a person but because it blends in with other items or its environment, or because it is not where the person looking for it expects it to be, it is hard to locate.
For example, I was looking in my bookshelves for a book by a particular author. I thought the book had a red cover, so I was looking for a red cover. I was wrong; it had a white cover. I probably glanced at the book 3 or 4 times without recognizing it. It was hidden (meaning I didn’t recognize it) in plain sight (it was perfectly visible).
What does Dick Stockton mean when he says “no signal yet” when a ref is signaling a TD in plain view?
Does someone need to cut off Dick’s Budweiser supply?
LOL I was saying the same thing
Why do Ceremonial Legalists work themselves to death turning over rocks when the spiritual is in plain view?
As Y’shua told the pharisees, et al, — their traditions make the word of
God of no effect..Their religious rituals and such become more import-ant to them than the TRUE MESSAGE of God that came through His Word and through His Son…but as Paul writes in Romans 3:4, “…Let FGod be true, but every man a liar…”
“In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.”
Religion for the sake of religion can take people straight to hell….but God sent His Son to SAVE us through His precious blood!!!
“He was wounded for our transgressions.
He was bruised for our iniquities.
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him
and with His stripes, we are healed….” <3 Is.53…
The name Y'SHUA means JEHOVAH SAVES. Emmanuel means God in the flesh….God with us, actually….in response to one of the answers given before…
NO BLOOD NO HEAVEN!!!
All of the religious rituals and such are a total waste. It is only through
FAITH in Jesus, the Son of God, and by His BLOOD, that one can be
REDEMPTION — NOT "RELIGION"!!!!
I received a summons in Brooklyn, NY for carrying a pocket knife in plain view. Should I contact a lawyer?
The summons is Admin Code 10-133 (c). The knife (legal sized folding knife) was in my pocket with a small “pocket clip” showing on the outside of my pocket.
Is dealing with this as simple as paying a fine or should I contact a lawyer?
I have provided a link to the specific Code you are being charged under below.
In summary, NYC’s law indicates that a knife carried concealed must have a blade less that 4 inches long. However, a knife carried openly of ANY length is illegal. I know, that’s rather odd that more restrictions apply to open carry than concealed.
Now, it’s debatable if having a pocket clip poking out is “carry in open view.” A police officer is naturally going to err on the side of caution, especially since he only gave a ticket with no arrest. However, a judge may throw it out. Furthermore, this law has exceptions, one being
“a) is being used for or transported immediately to or from a place where it is used for hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, picnicking or any employment, trade or occupation customarily requiring the use of such knife”
Depending on your statements to the officer, this may be a viable defense. If you said “its for self-defense” however, not so good.
Take a look at the statute and ponder your case. My gut right now is telling me that you could beat this citation, but you need a lawyer for it. Remember that Lincoln once said, “A man who represents himself has a fool for a client.” I say the money is worth it to avoid a weapon charge on your record.
Is it legal to carry a firearm in a shoulder holster in plain view in the state of Washington?
You can legally open carry a handgun in Washington. These are Washington State’s firearm laws.
I can assure you there is no law that prohibits open carry of a handgun for persons 21 years of age or older, but carry at your own risk. There are a lot of misinformed cops out there who don’t have a clue about the laws they are supposed to be enforcing. You should probably have a copy of the firearm laws with you at all times if you are going to open carry or just get a concealed weapons permit. We have “shall issue” conceal carry and the licenses aren’t too difficult to obtain if your record clears.
