can you base apartment income off of one well lending to two people?
my little brother and i are trying to get an apartment together. one of the landlords for an apartment we really liked told us that we both have to qualify for the income limit and we cannot qualify together. i was just wondering if this was legal to make both people get approved by themselves rather than doing a household income check.

Yes, 100% legal. He can do whatever he wants in this regard, it is his property.

Low income elderly housing and housing for the disabled. Section 8 but that takes years to get and you must be low income with a child or disabled.
For the normal low income person getting roommates or renting a room in a house or staying with parents, many work more than one job. Unless you are disabled you should be able to earn a roof over your head and food.

anyone who knows about low income rent with apartments?
I am applying to apartments here in colorado where rent is based off of your income.. the lady said they do like 3 different background checks.. is credit one of them? I don’t understand why if it is suppose to help poor people.. any ideas?
can they decline me if im good on all checks…but have bad credit?

They are there to help poor people, but not criminals or people who refuse to pay their bills.
