Your Questions About Mansions
In mansions why are there more bathrooms than bedrooms?
I am admittedly middle class, so I am not too familiar with the lifestyles of the rich and famous, but I occasionally see real estate ads for mansions that may state “6 bedrooms, and 8 bathrooms”. Why are there more bathrooms than bedrooms? It seems like they are extra full bathrooms, not just powder rooms/half baths. So why would anyone need more bathrooms than bedrooms? Thanks.
They are extra FULL bathrooms (complete with showers) – why are those needed?! I would understand having a couple of extra powder rooms but if you have extra full bathrooms what is the point?
For Convenience and because they can afford them. Actually they may be including bathrooms in the pool house or out by the tennis courts.
Is it true that mansions in the midwest cost somewhere in the $200k range?
Mansions out here in California cost millions and millions of dollars, but I heard that places in the midwest have pretty much dirt cheap mansions. Is that true?
Housing costs in the Midwest are generally much less, except in the prime areas of the major cities. Of course, salary levels are less, too. I have always found it interesting to “shop” for real estate on the various real estate web sites, where you choose a city and then enter your search criteria — how many bedrooms, etc. I live in the Midwest, and have found that I can get a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, separate dining room, fireplace, central air, new roof, new windows, garage, nice yard, good neighborhood house in a place like Springfield, IL for around $120,000, and couldn’t find anything like that on either coast at affordable cost. “Mansions” that are “dirt cheap” tend to have some very expensive problems requiring repairs that exceed the price of the house. Those that are in great shape in top areas may run to $1 million. Anyway, I suggest you run a few internet searches for real estate in some cities in the “flyover” states. I like http://www.realtor.com.
What is the best way to see the mansions in Newport, RI?
I’m flying to Newport for a wedding on Oct. 10th and will be there for only a couple of days. I’d love to see the mansions and need to use my time wisely.
Does anyone have any advice?

John 14:1-4,”Let not your heart be troubled:ye believe in God,believe in me.
In my Father’s house are many mansions:if it were not true,I would have told you.I go to prepare a place for you.And if I go and prepare a place for you,I will come again, and receive you unto myself;that where I am,there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.”
John 8:32,”And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
What are the “mansions of glory” that Springsteen refers to in Born to Run?
“Suicide machines” are obviously motorcycles (some have interpreted the lyric to mean drugs) but what are the “mansions of glory” that they ride the suicide machines through at night? Shopping malls perhaps?
It’s probably a reference to something in Jersey where he lived/lives.
