hi….im moving to dubai in feb ’07…would like to rent an apt in bur dubai studio or 1 bedroom. perhaps those units at the back of bur juman. any idea what they will cost me? are they furnish or unfurnished apts?

Administrator answers:

Well trust me its preety expensive if u want something decent but if u want to live in a crappy apartment with window ac in a bad neighborhood in burdubai, then u will find for a cheap price like 30-40 thousand dirhams, i always look in the gulf newspaper, its the best one out in the market they have online website gulfnews.com in the classifieds section under flats to let, so look there , alot of them in burdubai area, and u can get furnished or unfurnished what ever u are looking for, i just looked in the newspaper today and there is alot of openings over there so good luck and take ur time looking u can find alot.

Sharon asks…

Should I get a second cat?

I have had my little baby oreo for three years now, I had no intentions of getting a pet because I currently live in portugal and wasn’t sure if I was staying here (came for 3months ……9yrs ago) but the moment I saw her, she adopted me, my biggest concern was my apt balcony but everyone assured me that she would be fine but my cat is not a normal cat and at just 5 months old she tried bungee jumping without a rope,
3 heart attacks (mine) four operations ( hers) and over €1000 (mine) later she is almost fine apart from the fact that she cant jump, (still nuts but they say animals take after their owners)

the problem i have now is that last june i moved apt, this one doesn’t have a balcony (safer) but it also means no out door space for oreo, its smaller (larger studio apposed to 2bed apt) and i now work Straight shifts not splits so i am out of the house for up to 12hours at a time,

Im worried that she is lonely as she has always been a very needy for attention cat, and i would like another cat for company for her, but would it be just cruel to trap another cat inside all day ( i was brought up that cats were outside animals basically coming in to feed and sleep) my vet advised not to let oreo out because the damage she did in the fall to her front leg and back hips means she would be an easy target for the local stray dogs and her immune system is also poor.

I was thinking of trying the shelters to find an older house cat in need of a new home but do you think this would be a good idea or bad???

Administrator answers:

Well, my cats have no idea that the outside would be great, as they are not allowed outside, and would probably panic if they got out. They know where they have it good.

That you are considering a senior citizen cat is great, as older cats have a difficult time finding new homes.

The normal method of introductions won’t work in a studio apartment, as there is no separate room for isolating the new cat. So if you can get a large kennel, and put the new cat in the kennel, and let your cat get used to it, it might be easier. Expect hissing and growling as that it common. You have upset the pecking order, as your cat considers herself the top kitty.

If you can’t utilize a kennel, then let them mingle and supervise as best you can. It is doubtful they will try to do damage to each other, it just might seem that way. Time and love and affection in equal doses to both will go a long way in solving things.

A new cat should have a health assessment before bringing it home, so that that there are not any surprises.

Administrator answers:

Well hello mr. Exec.
I really can relate to your issues because I am just getting on my feet myself. I am also in the music industry, I am a lyricist and I write and I am working on my home studio right now but it is hard.I have a job as well and don’t make allot of money and i’m going to school so I dont have enough time in the day for another regular job, so I took a risk and joined a work at home business. I have been doing that a few months now so extra cash is coming in but it is hard work. So what I am saying is you will eventually find that way out to get you from living check to check and it wont be easy so take a risk and think outside the box. How bad do you want to make it in life is how far you will reach and try to find something better.

Donna asks…

I am a man, it looks like I am going to get divorced. What can I do for a place to live that allows a cat?

Here’s the skinny, I got with a girl I knew in high school. I was ending my lease at another place. She said I could move in with her MANY miles away. I did and brought my cat.

Time passed and I saw her son (9) now is psycho. In the last month he has tried to kill my cat twice. His 2nd attempt costed my kitty 2 1/4″ of his tail and $700 to amputate.

I can’t beat him, I’d go to jail and THEN where is kitty? I have to go. But my “profession” is jast baby sitting. She will not give me a referance if I leave.

I feel SO trapped. I am 32 and I live in Minnesota if anyof that helps for info. Even just a studio apt. but with no income I have no idea how to do anything.

PLEASE HELP!!!

Administrator answers:

Aww poor kitty what a little sh*thead kid…seriously..as for you try to get a friend to fake a refrence for you or you know just get a job and explain why you don’t have a refrence. ALSO remind her that its illeagle not to be your refrence and to talk bad about you so use her and she’ll prbably end up talking sh*t and youll get to sue her for it! For now if you can’t get out then put your kitty with a friend until you can he is in danger!

Inspiring Music Executive HELP 10pts!!!?

Hi there. I am the future music executive for E-Volve ent. I plan to make this business as big as the top dogs like sony, bad boy, arista, and universal. Problem is I work a job making 7.25hr,own one car, renting a two bd rm apt,and my credit score sucks ass. My fiance and I are currently living together sharing this two bd apt in which the second bd rm is I guess u can call it “studio“?….

Administrator answers:

First, don’t have kids. At least not yet, they’re expensive.

Next, read the book Rich Dad, Poor Dad, by Robert Kiyosaki, and read at least the first three books in the series. Borrow them from the Library or something, but sometimes you can find them for cheap. I got a few copies at the library book store around where I live for $1.00 each.

Next, brainstorm on paper. You’d be amazed at how much more efficient it can be to commit ideas to paper, and also it lets your conscious mind let go of them so it can move on to new stuff. Remember, brainstorming isn’t about writing down good ideas, it’s about writing down ALL ideas and filtering out the good ones later on.

A huge part of what I did when my company was younger was just that, work out my ideas on paper and refine them as much as possible.

Next, I’m not as educated on the music industry as I am with tshirts and bumper stickers, but just about any industry becomes easier to succeed in when you have a team. Do you have any musicians you plan to sign on? Any friends who can help? Be careful to only choose dedicated people, though. I tried starting a recording company, and when I moved outside of driving distance the guy I put in charge of it flaked out on me and wouldn’t return my calls or emails.

Do you have any friends who you can delegate to? Try and figure out who has what talents or necessary skills that you may not? Remember, running a business that gets huge is about networking together people to act as different parts of the whole machine. If you try to do it all, you’ll stay small.

About money, that’s a tough one. Try and get every part of it that doesn’t require money out of the way, while concentrating on how you can make more. Is there a plasma center around where you live? Sometimes you can donate plasma and make some cash. Just try and be creative, and don’t think that you have to follow any particular rules. If you’re unorthodox about how you do things, it not only separates you from your competition, but allows you to look in more places for ideas and inspiration.

I wish I could give more info on getting money. I hope this helps, and good luck!
Just keep at it!

***EDIT***
Be sure to take the steps to protect you’re Intellectual property rights! Copyright, trademark, etc. You should do this the second you’ve got the money to, and be sure to do it right! Don’t cut costs with this if there’s any possible way to avoid it.

That’s the death of many, many companies.
